Clodagh O'Shea 2018 Hunter Cell Biology Meeting

Clodagh O'Shea

Dr. O’Shea is an Associate Professor and HHMI faculty scholar at the Salk Institute. Her research integrates cancer biology, virology, structural biology, advanced imaging, synthetic biology and genomics to identify critical growth regulatory targets and develop novel therapies. Her research has revealed the profound overlap between the cellular networks targeted in both viral replication and cancer, which she is exploiting to develop novel synthetic viral therapies. Her team also develops disruptive technologies, such as ChromEMT, which enables the chromatin ultrastructure and 3D organization of the human genome to be visualized in single cells at nucleosome resolutions and megabase scales.
